Organisation (NGO) that is implementing a health program in Puncak
Jaya district, Papua. MDM supports health staff and communities in
improving the district health situation by technical capacity
building, training and education. MDM focus on Primary Health Care,
including prevention of Sexual Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS.
Médecins du Monde supports vulnerable population worldwide to reach an
improved health status and its right to health. MDM works on basis of
impartiality and neutrality.
As part of its expanded activities, MDM is currently looking for an
enthusiastic
Assistant-Logistician
Location: Jayapura, with occasional visits to the district of Puncak
Jaya
Duration: 3 months contract, extendable
The assistant will work together with the administrative team, consisting of an expatriate and national administrator and will be trained by an experienced logistician during 1 month. This administrative team in Jayapura supports and coordinates the management of logistics, budget and human resources between the country office in Jakarta and the two program bases in the highlands of Papua
Main Responsibilities:
• Organisation, quotation and tendering of non-medical purchases for the program
• Organisation of (non-) medical supply and cargo from and for the program
• Monitoring pending purchase orders from country office in Jakarta
• Inventory and equipment management of non-medical items via database
• Assessing and reporting logistical needs and maintenance for all bases
• (Staff) management over rehabilitation and sanitation work for bases in Puncak Jaya (basic water and electricity networks, repairs on wooden structures)
• Monitoring of communication and IT equipment maintenance
• Monitoring fuel consumption and usage/maintenance of vehicles
Profile:
• Preferable Bachelor or higher degree diploma
• Fluent level of Indonesian and English, both written and oral
• Working experience at (international) NGO level is an asset
• Proven technical ability in basic logistics
• Ability to organize and manage logistics and people
• Proven experience in excel, word and computing maintenance
• Interest, openness and flexibility in working with native Papuan
population
• Ability to live and work with basic facilities and in challenging
geographic environment
